A small garden scene on a wooden base, with fruit, carrots and worms to find homes for. Children sort by shape and colour, then feed the rabbit and invent stories along the way. The pieces are chunky and tactile, and the play has a clear beginning and end, which suits children who like to finish what they start.
How your child plays with it
- Sorting — Fitting each fruit and carrot to its place builds shape recognition and careful hand-eye coordination.
- Counting — Twelve fruits and eight carrots give natural things to count, group and compare.
- Pretend play — The rabbit and worms add a story, so sorting turns into caring for the garden.

How to give it the Montessori way
Lay the base on a low table and model placing one fruit slowly into its spot, then invite your child to continue. Bring out the worms and rabbit only once sorting feels familiar, so each new element has its own moment.
